Borrowing from 14th Century Japanese Samurai breastplate designs, our TITAN body armor is an intricate system of scallop shaped die-cut polycarbonate shells affixed to nylon webbing. Each strip of scales are sewn in overlapping rows onto a lightweight nylon material, and finally affixed onto a T-Flex bundle facing outward.

The primary ballistic material utilized is T-Flex, a patented Twaron fiber-based Aramid composite material. Although T-Flex alone has demonstrated excellent ballistic protection capabilities, our goal of reducing back face signature to half the depth allowed by current NIJ standards required the addition of a lightweight material that would disperse a projectile’s energy prior to making first contact with the underlying T-Flex material.
